The Big Windmill Corporate & Family Motel

We booked a double room a couple of hours before we arrived. We were greeted by a very friendly man who upgraded us to the queen room. The room itself had a fridge with cold water in it, and kitchenette with jug, toaster a microwave, hot plate & some cooking implements. The bathroom was nice & clean. After a delicious meal at the Coffs Hotel, we headed back to our room. I had a lovely swim in the salted pool, as it was still very hot at that hour. It was quiet & refreshing. The bed was nice & big & we were pleasantly surprised at the lack of noise there was considering how close to the highway the motel is. On checkout the next morning, the man at reception was just as pleasant. Thanks for a lovely stay😊

Rooms were clean and spacious, shower was hot and excellent water pressure after a long drive! We booked about 10 minutes before arriving very late at night, and confirmation email from the website hadn't come through yet, but when I called the owner she was so lovely about it and gave us a free room upgrade just because it was unoccupied and she could! Absolutely would stay again just based on interactions with the owner alone, she was so lovely!

We didn't end up staying, we found a nicer motel down the road. We booked and were charged $450 for a family of 4 for 1 night. Was hard to cancel the booking, we were told it needed to be done online where there was no option to cancel and we booked direct with them, after a few phone calls (and being hung up on by rude receptionist) we finally got it cancelled. We had another family who was traveling with us who also cancelled after being told they needed to pay a further $250 on top of their $450 for their service dog. I'm glad we stayed elsewhere I think we dodged a bullet!

Family motel? We had a non operational TV for our children, called for assistance told it was 'after hours and it sounded like a first world problem' we checked in here with our winnebago after torrential weather and fireworks being cancelled in town with the idea of watching the fireworks in Sydney on the TV, we couldn't do that and were met with distasteful language and service from management. The bathrooms are absolutely filthy and growing mould, but that doesn't even make up for the level of disrespect and unprofessionalism we were met with when calling for assistance from staff here. Unfriendly, disgraceful amenities, unfortunately we cannot recommend this place as Family, hopefully management changes soon.

Heading home from the United States, we were driving from Brisbane to Sydney and didn’t realize that all of the hotels needed to be booked ahead of time. We didn’t realize they had business hours where they closed early. A K no late night reception like the states. we drove here to see if the reception was open, turns out that they were closed and we had checked out all the other places nearby, they were also closed. So we decided to get my four-year-old ready for sleep. Then someone pulled into the parking lot came over and was like can I help you? I responded with. Yeah we were thinking about staying here but obviously receptions close so we’re just gonna keep moving, and she responded with. Did you want to stay the night here? I said well yeah if you’re willing to open it up and she said yeah come on in and got checked into a room. I can’t tell you how happy we were to be able to get a nice comfortable place to sleep for the night. Everything was great highly recommended.
